We Don’t Have Kids — and We’re Living It Up

DINK life: dual income, no kids — and no, we’re not apologizing for it.

Let’s talk about something people don’t always say out loud:

We don’t have kids.

We might someday. We might not.

But right now? We’re living a full, fun, purpose-driven life… and loving it.

We’re DINKs — dual income, no kids — and while this lifestyle isn’t for everyone, it’s absolutely for us right now.

Here’s what that looks like:

  • Freedom to travel (and book a flight with zero notice)

  • Budgeting for date nights, dream cars, and yes — a few too many Amazon packages

  • Having time and energy to pour into our businesses and ourselves

  • Raising two very spoiled dachshunds who fully believe they’re our children

  • And being able to build a life we’re proud of before possibly expanding our family

We don’t have diaper bags, daycare costs, or soccer schedules.

But we do have dreams, goals, and the space to chase them — together.

But here’s the thing:

Being a DINK doesn’t mean we’re selfish.

It doesn’t mean we don’t love kids (we do — especially our nieces and nephews).

It doesn’t mean we think one lifestyle is “better” than another.

It just means this is the season we’re in.

And we’re choosing to live it fully.

We’re building wealth. We’re building memories. We’re building a life that lights us up.

And honestly? It feels really good to own that.

So if you’re in a similar season — whether by choice, circumstance, or somewhere in between — I just want to say:

You’re allowed to celebrate it.

You don’t have to explain it.

And you definitely don’t have to shrink it just because it looks different from the “norm.”

Here’s to the glow-up, the getaways, the financial freedom, and the fur babies.

We’re not waiting to live fully — we’re doing it now.
